Edited for the benefit of children in the 21st century - A new smoke free edition of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas'

Twas The Night Before Christmas - Smoke Free Children's Book

“A person who hasn’t started smoking by age 19 is unlikely to ever become a smoker. Nicotine addiction begins when most tobacco users are teenagers, so let’s call this what it really is: a pediatric disease.”              David A. Kessler, MD
Commissioner of FDA

Why is this an important issue to be aware of ?

• The World Health Organization predicts that one billion people will die in this century from nicotine related diseases which is up tenfold from the 20th century in which  100 million people died  preventable, premature deaths as a result of nicotine use.

• We can  help our children not start smoking by limiting their exposure to the portrayal of nicotine in a positive light,  in movies they see, books they read and in daily life.

“I'm writing to do justice to the things I notice, to the ideas in my head and to the people who choose to read my work. The interesting lesson: One way to work the system is to work the system. The other way is to refuse to work it.”
